Asphalt or Bitumen refers to the black, or brownish black solid or semi-solid plastic material whose main ingredient is Bitumen. It is a natural material composed of the remains left from the distillation of crude oil or anything similar to it.
Bitumen is a material in a tar state that is created when oil, lime, or other organic matter and is transformed by heat. It works as the main element of asphalt. Usually, the word 'Bitumen' is used as a synonym for asphalt. While 'asphalt' is frequently used in the USA and Asia, 'Bitumen' is used in Europe in many cases.
There are diverse usages of asphalt such as for road paving, waterproofing, fuel, etc; however. About 95% of Asphalt is used for road paving. Asphalt can be transported in bulk state or packed in drums for exclusive ships and is classified largely into Pen 60/70 and Pen 80/100 according to one of its features, the penetration degree.
Since we secured a storage facility of 3000 MT in 1994 on Jeju Island, we have maintained 70~100% market share continually in the Jeju market. We started domestic sales service of full scale after we additionally secured the 20,000 MT storage facility in Kunsan in September 2001.
Currently, we are supplying our asphalt nationwide and mainly to Chollanam-do, Chollabuk-do, Chungchongnam-do, and the Chungchongbuk-do area. Furthermore, we are gradually increasing our range and the volume as well.
Being the only domestic specialized asphalt import corporation responding to the demand and supply of overseas materials based on 10 years experience in ocean transportation and trading.
